Katie Maltsberger founded Katie's Dance Studio in 1966. Her studio is
renowned for producing students who are well-trained. Many of Katie's
students have gone on to dance professionally throughout the world.
Recent alumni,
Samuel Black and Dallas McMurray currently perform
with the
Mark Morris Dance Group.
Students who take lessons at Katie's Dance Studio not only learn dance
technique but also how to work together as a group as well as how to
achieve self confidence through the joy of dance.
Katie started dancing at the age of three and has performed professionally
since the age of fourteen. Katie has been featured in musicals, corporate and
professional shows with well known performers. She continues to
choreograph professional shows and musical theater.
A San Francisco Bay Area native, Katie, obtained her Bachelor of Science
degree in Kinesiology with a specialization in Dance from California State
University, Hayward. Katie is also a certified member of
Dance Masters
of America.
Katie's daughter Trina has followed a similar career path. Trina won a dance
scholarship to
Hawaii Pacific University where she was also a member of
the dance team. After graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology she
has performed and toured with the Disney Company, on cruise ships as
well as performing in a national tour of "Veggie Tales." Trina continues to
perform professionally in addition to her position as the artistic director of
Broadway Rhythm Dance Company.
